Our Adoption Process

Step 1: Apply

Complete and submit an adoption application. A $25 application fee is required.
After reviewing your application, a team member will contact you for an interview to learn more about your home, lifestyle, children, adults, and other pets—so we can help identify the best possible match.

Step 2: Match

Once approved, we’ll work with you to match you with the dog you applied for—or another pug who may be an even better fit. Because our dogs are often adopted quickly, the specific dog you apply for may no longer be available by the time the process is complete. We recommend following us on social media for the most up-to-date information on incoming and available dogs.

Step 3: Meet & Greet

If the meet and greet goes well, you can take your new pug home! You’ll receive a link to pay the adoption fee, along with your dog’s medical records and instructions for updating microchip registration.

Out-of-state adopters: Meet and greets will be held virtually. You are required to travel to Northern California to pick up your dog.

Adoption FAQs

What is the adoption fee range?

Adoption fees typically range from $300–$1,200, depending on the dog’s age, breed, and medical needs upon arrival.
French Bulldogs generally have adoption fees of $1,000 or more. Please inquire about a specific dog for exact pricing.

What does the adoption fee include?

Your adoption fee helps cover lifesaving care. Dogs are spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and receive a veterinary wellness exam (unless they are puppies).

Do puppies come with microchips and vaccinations?

Yes. Puppies are available for adoption after receiving their second round of puppy vaccines and are microchipped. A spay/neuter agreement is required, and we reimburse $150 once the procedure is completed at the appropriate age.

What if I can no longer care for my adopted dog?

If your circumstances change, Tiny Paws Pug Rescue will always take back your adopted dog. Adoption contracts prohibit selling, trading, or rehoming the dog independently. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis.
